March 22 – April 22: Let’s Celebrate World Water Day Once Again

One month after World Water Day, Madek is once again turning its focus to this vital topic, through the lens of energy efficiency and sustainability.
How do we do it at Madek?
When designing and installing hydraulic systems — especially in gyms — we use heat recovery systems that capture energy from shower wastewater to help preheat domestic hot water (DHW).
Additionally, we install timed shower units with specially designed low-flow, misting showerheads, which ensure a consistent water output compared to traditional systems.
Here’s an example of average consumption with a standard solution:

16 liters of water consumed per minute (on average)
10 minutes per shower (on average)
12 shower stalls per facility
500 average daily users
Open 365 days per year
150 gyms built (to date)

Standard consumption calculation:
16 L x 10 min = 160 L per use
160 L x 12 stalls = 1,920 L
1,920 L x 500 users = 960,000 L average daily consumption
960,000 L x 365 days = 350,400,000 L/year
350,400,000 L x 150 gyms = 52,560,000,000 L/year
That’s 52,560,000 m³ per year!

Madek solution consumption:
29.565.000 m3  m³/year, thanks to a 41% reduction compared to standard systems.

What does that mean in real terms?
An Olympic-size swimming pool holds about 2,500,000 liters.
So, the standard solution is equivalent to the consumption of 21 pools, while Madek’s solution brings that down to just 12 pools.

In this way, we proudly do our part to help protect the planet.
